Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum
The Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum is a fantastic transport museum dedicated to preserving the island’s rich history of bus and coach travel. Located in Ryde, the museum houses an impressive collection of preserved buses, coaches and transport memorabilia, with vehicles representing operators from across the Isle of Wight and the wider UK.
Visitors can get up close to historic vehicles, explore how public transport has changed over the decades, and see buses that once provided everyday services around the island. The collection includes vehicles from a variety of eras and operators, making it particularly interesting for anyone with an interest in buses, coaches and local transport history.
The museum is run by volunteers who work to preserve these vehicles and keep the island’s transport heritage alive for future generations. It also hosts special events and running days, where selected preserved vehicles can sometimes be seen back in service on the island’s roads.
